Neko + Drey

Neko means cat in Japanese. Drey is derived from Maudrey — the name of my first cat, and the reason Nekodrey exists.

Maudrey wasn't just a pet. He was the turning point. The moment he came into my life, everything shifted — my priorities, my values, and eventually my decision to build something of my own.

Nekodrey carries his spirit in how I approach every project: curious, deliberate, and completely present.

Like a cat studying its surroundings before making a move — I observe, analyse, and plan before I ever open Figma.

The Designer

Born and based in Penang, Malaysia.

Since 2019, I've worked across digital marketing, motion graphics, and web design — building a foundation that lets me approach every project as both a designer and a strategist.

In 2022, I founded Nekodrey to do things differently. No big agency overhead. No junior designers handling your work. Just senior-level design thinking applied directly to your business challenges.

Today I work with businesses across Malaysia and internationally — designing websites and digital experiences that look premium and perform even better.

When I'm not designing, I'm being supervised by three very demanding cats.

My Approach
I don't start with aesthetics. I start with questions.

Who is your audience? What action do you want them to take? What's working on your current site, and what's quietly costing you customers?

Only after understanding your business do I open Figma.

This is what separates a website that looks good from one that actually performs. And it's the foundation of every project I take on.

We will tell you clearly about the balance between cost and quality related to the website.

In other words, there is some connection between cost and the quality of the design. For example, it is hard to request clients to increase the budget to have a better layout and better design. In this case, it may be a burden for the client to cut down the cost and leave the client with no choice but to forgo the massive potential of an online presence.

Nekodrey Design do not compete to bring down the price but we are dedicated to a deeper understanding of the business and how to optimize and maximize the result within the budget.
